MRSA PBP2a Antibodies

High-sensitivity PBP2a capture antibody, clone AC10, available pre-biotinylated or as a sequence-defined recombinant minibody.

Clone AC10 targets PBP2a, the penicillin-binding protein encoded by mecA that confers methicillin resistance in Staphylococcus aureus. Supplied pre-biotinylated for direct streptavidin capture, or as a recombinant minibody where a defined, animal-free supply chain is required.

Suited to rapid test development and methicillin resistance assay design.

Western blot using antibody IQ377 (clone AC10) on 5 different MRSA strains. Staph. Aureus cells were boiled for 5 minutes, and then loaded onto 12% SDS-PAGE gels. Following SDS=-PAGE separation, proteins were blotted on to nitrocellulose membrane, before being incubated with antibody at 1/1,000 overnight. Bound antibody was detected with HRP-conjugated anti-mouse IgG. Clone AC10 binds to a protein of 76kD, consistent with the expected size of PBP2a.
